Snow Down Under

THE FRONT LAWN:

I am standing under Acer Brilliantissimum looking down to the lake in the late afternoon sun. This maple is so aptly named; at this time of the year the leaves are butter yellow, then they change to lime green & back to yellow again in the autumn. It is brilliant ! A lovely warm day, 17*c, I think, but breezy as well. My irises are just coming out so I can expect the wind to really pick up - it happens every year.
