Hopscotch on the Stanegate

BackBlipping as there was no internet on the ferry, horror of horrors !
We travelled from Dumfries to Newcastle and as there was plenty of time before boarding we took the Corbridge bypass to have a look at the Roman Town site. Those Romans really were something ! The engineering and technical/structural knowledge to create their towns with aqueducts, the vents and other airing systems to keep their grain dry and mould-free, it is always amazing to see these age-old structures.
I was on the look-out for something pink and though I don't usually capture strangers I thought this was probably ok. The girl was indeed doing some kind of hopscotch on the main road (called the Stanegate) of the Roman Town. I wonder if there were any children in this army town who played on this street in Roman time, only the head of the garrison could bring his family, I think
