Fall Festival

We spent half of the day at the local Fall Festival.  This shows how they use to make sorghum long ago.  Sorghum is like molasses only better!  You can cook with it, using it in place of maple syrup or molasses and the best is a hot biscuit with real butter and drizzled sorghum - yum!  They had about 3 other horses to replace this one throughout the day and you could go into the little shack and watch it being processed.  There were blacksmiths working, spinning of yarn the old wayand all kinds of homemade crafts. They even had a mill where they made cornmeal and grits. I came home with some colorful glass windchimes (for inside the house) and a beautiful sounding one for outside.

Extra is a look.
