Fly past

Busy day tidying round before heading off.
The gods were kind and the help we've waited for for 6 weeks finally arrived and we can now stow the car under cover. A huge relief.
I happened to be doing a final bit of plant moving/mulching when some Whoopers flew overhead (quite noisily!). Flocks of Redwings and Golden Plovers too whilst we've been driving around the past couple of days.
We tried hunting the Northern Lights last night but sadly the forecast went from amazing to unlikely just before we headed out. The many, many stars made the trip to a darker area worth it although the Kirkwall lights were still a bit distracting.
All housework now finally done - a quick coffee with a friend put me a bit behind schedule, but you've got to prioritise ;-)
Extra is of blipper having fun having failed to catch a glorious orb of golden sun across the bay - the light was far too overwhelming for a happy snapper!
