Not quite 'ash on an old man's sleeve'

We were away at the weekend, and left some roses in a vase. So when we came back they were pretty much dessicated, and actually I rather like them like this, before they get to that 'ash on an old man's sleeve' stage.
The texture of the petals is amazing - like the skin on hands, they wrinkle with the passing of time!
