A Royal Walkie

You will never guess who we went walkies with today! HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden! She was doing a walk from o u r bird lake through o u r nature reserve on o u r forest paths today with a group of children and representatives from the region and the city. And anyone who wanted could come and walk with them. Of course we wanted to! I wore a blue and yellow ribbon for the occasion.

We started at the bird lake, walked right past our picnic spot and past a few cows who wondered what on earth was going on. There were around ten stations along the way, where everything from bird watching to preservation of local flora and fauna to children's orienteering was shown for the children, the governor and the Crown Princess to try out or learn. She even did an obstacle course in the woods with the children that included crawling through an agility tunnel!

It was no walk in the park. Muddy, high grass, rocky terrain. But I am adventurous so that's ok. All of a sudden, I saw this ginormous rock, maybe 2,5 metres, and decided to do something spectacular! I climbed it! Mum couldn't reach me! And the Crown Princess walked right beside it and she looked up at me and gave me a BIG smile! Yay!

It was lucky we had brought a picnic, because by the time we arrived back at the car, we had spent 3,5 hours in the forest! Great day! The Crown Princess is the lady in the plum coloured jacket and a ponytail.
