Kookaburra waiting

Kookaburras were  introduced to Perth in 1897 to control snake numbers, and are therefore not native to the area.. Although successful, it also preys on other native species, threatening them.

This kookaburra was threatening the fish in the fish pond, though it can't reach them as the pond is mesh covered. It also eats lizards in the garden.
