Beneath Biscay

Passage of time

Reconsutruction of Gijon's Roman city wall to the left with some of the original wall at the base. Ahead, the 16th century (I think) palace of the noble Valdés family, now a school, with the tower of the church of San Pedro Apóstol behind. The church was rebuilt in the 1940s, replacing the original early 15th century church that was badly damaged by left-wing militia during the civil war.
