Magnetic Island, Australia

After sticking close by our hostel in Nelly bay we ventured to the other side of the island "Horseshoe bay" it had a beautiful beach and we shared our fish and chips with the local lorikeets (they were literally everywhere). After some lunch we went to Bungalow bay koala sanctuary. There were 3 animal handling sessions a day and we had a small group for the last session. I had an absolute amazing time learning all about the animals and holding them all (we never realised we could handle so many) We held everything from turtles, lizards, snakes, crocodiles!! and of course I had to have another Koala cuddle. This one was much more still and had a much longer hold than the one in Brisbane. At the end of the session was also a Lorikeet feed, which was our second feed of the day as we fed them our lunch earlier! This time was mental though. The ranger handed us a portion of wet bread each and they swarmed in, squawking and landing everywhere, we were mobbed lol. We then visited some more beaches - Alma bay and Geoffrey bay and were taking lots of pictures. A man jogged past asking if we wanted to take a picture of a snake he'd just seen - very cautiously we said yes!! No idea what kind it was, a long, thin black one possibly a tree or sea snake but as always best to stay clear/see from afar in case they are venemous (it's Australia - most of them are!!)
