Death Valley

Zabriskie Point in Death Valley on the California/Nevada border. The lowest point below sea level in USA and location of the highest recorded temperature on earth. With the varied geology, animal and plant life I never knew a desert would be so interesting. Apparently a desert is defined as somewhere that receives less than 10 inches rainfall per year. Death Valley averages less than 2 inches. Definitely a desert then!
