Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Abandoned??

The weekly blip challenge is “Abandoned building”…which was indeed a challenge on this island.    This is the closest I can come —a small cabin on a small island just north of us that has had it’s windows boarded up (painted the same grey) for 3 years now.   Bought many years ago by a family near Seattle it had no fresh water, electricity,  or dock..you had to scramble up on the rocks  (no beach) to get there.  Then the next generation helped put in a second story, a dock, water catchment and a compost toilet, and some solar panels.   One of the daughters was a super fisherwoman and boater and loved it here… she was married to a wonderful glass artist (whose elegant glass vessel I just saw in the National Museum in Edinburgh! .Dante Marioni) who loved it here too, with their son.  (who took up rowing as did his Mom later…. we have a boat waiting for them!)  but Alas, now they are divorced and word has it the the new man in her life hates water and boats.    We miss her!
What is one to do?

Actually this is a tree test!  What do you see?   3 of the 5 from this week’s “tree series”.…  I don’t see a cedar in this picture or a willow.

It was a perfectly gorgeous week..sorry to be packing up to leave in the morning,…we did take time to sit on the beach with a glass of wine before dinner... the extra... this island is the little round one on the right.
