Sultana Cake - Revamped

Yesterday a neighbour called in and was telling me about a new recipe she had just made of a Caramel Sultana Cake. When she was briefly describing it, I remembered the old recipe from my 1971 NZ Womens Weekly cook book that was my standby on the farm. Turns out it was the same basic recipe, but with some cranberry's and apricots added to the fruit, brown sugar instead of white and part wholemeal flour. Obviously a good old recipe that had a modern twist and republished!
As we were having visitors for lunch, decided to make one this morning and it turned out rather nice. And to see the old cook book with the stains from many years of opening to that page brought back lots of memories.
