Titan Crane

As a former Naval Architect at Scott's Shipyard I was saddened at the demolition of this great yard in the 1980s. What a missed opportunity by Inverclyde Council to create a fascinating maritime museum based around one of the oldest shipyards in the world.

We have destroyed so much of our unique heritage that it is a relief that the iconic Sir William Arrol Titan crane in James Watt Dock in Greenock has survived.

There are only four Titans left in Scotland.
