Nelson - day 2

Just like yesterday but a bit different.  More local Nelson icons.......Isel House & gardens then a short drive out to Cable Bay where the weather was distinctly blowy, grey and hinting at rain.  These mail boxes along the way told us that we were definitely in rural New Zealand!  So colourful and individual.

Remarkably, as we drove the relatively short distance back towards town, we headed over the Gentle Annie hill to be greeted by a sparking Tasman Bay.  The sun was out and the skies were blue. Decided on a wee detour to the Boulder Bank where we found almost summer-like warmth in the sun, and a flock or Terns entertained us for a good wee while whilst we lapped up the UV's (and I chased Tern images!).  Such a huge difference in weather in just a few kms.

Dinner out this evening was a treat from dad.  We decided on the Harbour Lights restaurant with fabulous views overlooking the harbour (oddly enough!)  Absolutely stunning food.........quite possibly the best meal I have ever had....really!  Big thanks to dad for the treat xx

I can hardly believe that T & A's fortnight is rapidly drawing to an end............it feels like it's barely started but they'll be heading away again in just a couple of days :(
