The Old Church

It was a rainy Sunday in downtown Helsinki.  I did however continue with my walking routine and a short walk from the hotel was The Old Church.

The church was constructed in the 1820's and saw it was finally completed in 1826.  Since then it has identified by a number of names:

"a temporary Lutheran church"

"a new Lutheran wooden church"

"the smaller church of the Lutheran congregation"

"the old Lutheran church"

and then the short step to be know as The Old Church  and a busy church it is especially for weddings.

The church sits in the middle of the Old Church Park at the former Kamppi Cemetery.
