Still going strong

A couple of days short of November and the red admirals are still going strong. Today, at last, I did manage to catch one on the Japanese Aralia. This shot is taken on full zoom, through a window, yet look how clearly the butterfly's probosis shows up. If you look carefully, you can also see three (blurred) hoverflies!

Another beautiful day! Whatever the clocks say, it still feels summery.
