Simon's Seat

The combination of a sunny day forecast and the clocks going back an hour meant we were up for an early start, and ready to set off on one of our favourite walks. We parked at the Cavendish Pavillion at Bolton Abbey, and set off following signs for the wonderfully named 'Valley of Desolation'. After a long uphill climb we had lunch at the top (Simon's Seat) then started back down the hill, finishing the walk with a long stretch by the riverside. It's normally medium busy when we visit, but there was a special Hallowe'en event on - which made it crazy busy, with lots of dressed up kids pumpkin hunting.
