Smokey 2000 hr (Sunday 29th October 2017)

No photos taken all day (despite being out); Smokey to the rescue. This would be good for MonoMonday, with the theme of Animal, except that it is my blip for Sunday.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
The Rolling Stones - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (recorded 20 August 1965, Maida Vale, London; broadcast 18 September 1965, Saturday Club)
The Rolling Stones BBC radio sessions have never been officially released, unlike those of the Beatles, though some have appeared on bootlegs and unofficial Russian versions of the albums. They have been re-broadcast on Radio One on programmes like Alan Freeman's Saturday Rock Show in the seventies and on special shows such as The Stones At The Beeb, where they were saved by home-tapers such as myself.
Later this year, though, On Air, a collection of these recordings will finally be released, and a deluxe copy will be winging its way to yours truly.
A couple of items have been made available online in advance, including this one, played by Cerys on her show on this day. The official recording, inspired by the riff from Dancing In The Street, was begun at the Chess studios in Chicago and completed at RCA Studios in Hollywood on 11-12 May 1965. It had been released as a single in the UK the same month that the Stones performed this version without any overdubs for Brian Matthew's Radio 2 programme.
