Reformation Day In Germany

October 31st is Reformation Day in Germany.
Five hundred years ago German theologian Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the Wittenberg Castle Church door. In doing this, he denounced the medieval ways of the church. His actions brought upon an international discourse that paved the way for the Protestant Reformation.'
This 500th year has been a nation wide public holiday . (Normally only five states celebrate ).
This afternoon attended a marvellous organ concert at the Französische Dom ( see programme) Then tonight ,a concert at the Konzerthaus Gendarmenmarkt with the Klassiche – Philharmonie Bonn. They were excellent and we heard Brahms Concerto for piano and orchestra Nr 1 . Followed by Beethovens Symphony Nr 6 .
