Magnolia

We went for a walk in Killerton Park today.  The weather was still warm and still with a weak sun shinning through.  In the car park I spotted a magnolia tree with some faded flowers on it.  A number of bees were flying in and out of the fallen stigmas or stamens that had collected at the bottom of a petal.  I assume there must have been a little nectar still around in them.  We wandered up to The Clump and the Old Hill Fort and looked down on the open green fields with leaves falling from the large trees around.  Definitely autumnal now with some flame coloured maple trees but still more to come I think.

Back to Topsham for lunch at a favourite cafe and then home.
