The world is a loud, noisy place. That's my conclusion after my first day of fully restored hearing after 11 weeks of a muffled existence.

But some things are worth it. On my way home I met two lovely young men who were giving out meals of veggie curry and rice. They came from the local gurdwara to spread some love. In the Sikh religion, anyone who comes to the gurdwara must be given hospitality. When I pointed out that we were at the foot of Leith Walk, not the gurdwara, they simply said that there was so much hate in the world and they were trying to add a little love. They hope that everyone who received a meal would keep on spreading the love.

What a wonderful idea! What the world needs now is love, sweet love...
