Flowers

I was hoping that we wouldn’t receive any flowers as I knew that they would be guaranteed to make me cry. David’s colleague’s sent flowers. They are lovely but there were tears.

We were sorting out things in the kitchen. Things that were his generated tears.

Reliving last year generated tears.

But we have made it through today. Last year the whole family were together, drinking shots and supporting each other. This year work commitments have meant that it was just another day for some of us.

And as someone said we have now been through all of the firsts.
