Here & There

Biscayne National Park

A rather different national park from most, being predominantly open ocean and isolated islands or keys. So the only way to see it is by an organised boat excursion.
In the morning we explored the shallow mangroves of Jones Lagoon by paddle boat. Very pleasant gliding though calm flat water but we didn't see much wildlife unfortunately, other than the usual birds that we have come to recognise.
The weather became somewhat thunderstormy in the afternoon, so we didn't do the planned snorkelling. The water was quite chopped up 3 miles offshore and visibility rather murky. Not pleasant.
Overall a bit of a disappointment.
