Various from a sunny day

First to report that yesterday’s fireworks were a great success. There were about 2,500 people on Arnside Prom. About £6,500 was collected which will pay for next years fireworks with a large amount over for good causes. I used the video facility on my camera with reasonable results but clearly cannot post any on Blip.

The main photo is really a picture postcard type of the Howgill Fells as seen from Arnside. Yesterday AJC posted an interesting blip in which he suggested that if you sent this type of photo to a magazine you might, if it was good enough (and this is certainly not) get it printed as a little thumbnail along with others at the bottom of a page.
If on the other hand you sent my extra of the girl with the balloon you might get a double page spread because it leaves large areas where the sub editor can place big headings and text. You would be paid more. Interesting.

My other extra is a different late afternoon shot of Arnside Knott.

We went to see the Starling murmuration about a mile from home. With good weather we were hopeful of a good display. But they are unpredictable. A few thousand arrived in groups but they almost immediately dropped down into the reeds. Will try again soon.
