Grey skies

It's been raining all day and I've only made it out once, for a quick sprint up to the gym. And so today's picture was actually taken just over two years ago when I came to Canada as a tourist and took the train from Toronto to Vancouver.

It was a beautiful journey - a great opportunity to switch off and enjoy watching the world go by. The trip takes 4 days and there are frequent stops as the low-priority passenger train gives way to the high-priority freight trains. It was one of those journeys where the travelling was more important than the arriving.

This photo was taken midway, where the terrain is flat and the horizon stretches out for miles in front of you. There was a dark and brooding sky, which is part of a wonderful mix of greys and greyness in this photo. It reminds me that we don't always need sunshine to find beauty in our day.
