Apophenia

I was trying to get a bit of culture by watching a documentary on BBC4 about the Renaissance. They showed a Hieronymus Bosch or two. Then they showed satirical paintings of people made of from all sorts of things, including this plate, which is on display in the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

I’m not going to tell you the English translation of the Latin: my mother reads this, and I fear I am in enough trouble as it is.
