Hips

Like one or two other things just now, I have taken a radical approach to pruning a climbing rose.  It, and the clematis which it hosted, are now much less than they were.  Both will come again with vigour.

There were still many rose hips around so, as I reduced the substantial pile of branches to more manageable smaller pieces, I separated the hips out.  I'll find a way to make them available to the local bird life.  I liked the contrasting colours as they lay on the grass.
