The unknown....

Sometimes, even in a city you have known virtually since childhood, you come upon the unknown.

Walking back from a very pleasant dinner with the Chair of Westminster’s Public Accounts Committee , Bernard Jenkin MP and a group of his guests who were helping him to make sense of his visit to the Scottish Parliament today I saw this street name which is just off St Leonard’s - and was mystified.

It may relate to the Duke of Hamilton’s involvement with the folly on Calton Hill, or to the more modern sculpture within the housing development which is the “mews”.

Either way it was a surprise - and none the worse for that, of course !
