A Little Evening R&R

This morning, I drove hubby to Schiedam for a 2-hour interview with a psychologist assigned by the court to assess hubby's state of mind and general well-being in order to be able to properly judge hubby's case versus the social welfare office.  Previous to this, I had already warned my morning class that I wouldn't be seeing them, so no problem there.  We left early in anticipation of traffic, but there were no rush-hour problems at all, much to our surprise, and so we arrived in plenty of time and with a lot less stress.  Hubby had to fill in a questionnaire and then the talk began.  The specialist was a very kind man, although we were both aware that he was also under the direct order of the court.  The talk lasted 1.75 hours and hubby was glad I had come along as I could help him out when he ran out of words.  The doctor also asked me quite a number of times for my own assessment of the situation.  We came away with the feeling that we had been honest and done what had been asked of us, and the only thing left to do now is to wait.  The specialist has about a month to present his findings.  He'll get in touch with hubby's own doctors and draw up his own report and submit it to the court, and then we'll be notified.  Hubby felt a little drained, which was to be expected.  I didn't have any time to feel similarly as I still had to go to work after driving hubby back home.  Of course, I took the time for a quick lunch -- leftover cream paté with leftover rice plus a cup of lemon tea ... yummm!

At work, I finished two sets of marks, inputted them into the system and finalized them before I changed my mind.  Then I had my class, which went pretty well.  Finally drove back home, and after dinner we decided to go out for dessert.  There is a Greek restaurant at the city centre and hubby decided to try their baclava while I had a cheesecake.  After this morning's session, we both felt we needed some fresh air.  This was shot after we left the restaurant.  Market Square is now decorated with holiday lights in prepartion for the winter celebrations and the whole centre has an air of winter coziness.  Not that we plan to hang out here, though, as our home is a lot warmer.
