Poppycock...

For many people who blip, this is a daily diary. For others, it's a platform for political views and protests. For me, it's just an excuse to have a bit of fun. Usually.....

Many of you will know how controversial the wearing of a simple red poppy has become. Some see it as a racist symbol, others as a glorification of war.

At times, I worry about the world we live in. 'Political correctness' - whether it's about poppies, gender fluidity, or sexism in Westminster - has made people afraid to express opinions, lest they offend someone.

So I would like to state right here, that to me, a red poppy is neither glorifying war, nor insulting anyone who isn't white. It's a simple way to remember all the people who have lost their lives in war....no matter what colour, nationality or religion. They deserve our respect and our gratitude....eternally.
