Huskies aren't really that sort of dog. When she was young Pushka would chase things, and on the odd occasion she'd bring them back, but always with a sense of disdain. I'd kinda smile that she'd always leave them a couple of feet away....like a challenge.

However over the last few months, in her grand old age, she's developed a puppylike fondness for tennis balls. At first I thought it was the joy of stealing Milo's toys (next door's crazy retriever), then she stole mine.... but now she takes them everywhere with her. I know she loves the sense of defeating them when they pop, but she continues to carry them round, a doggy comforter. Often with the hilarious consequence that they get wedged on her snout or the far less humerous "why is there a ball at the top of the stairs....."

We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.
