flypast

Remembrance Day
We walked to the small Duncan Airport that is on a hill where we watched the flypast. A group of about seven airplanes flew from Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Chemainus, Duncan, Cobble Hill and Mill Bay for Remembrance Day celebrations in those towns.

My father fought for the Netherlands in 1940. And as a child I watched when the Atlantic Wall was dismantled from our town. Lots of blasting.
