Pilgrimage

Mme A had a conference in Macclesfield, giving me the chance to visit the town where I had the last nine years of my school education and then the town where I spent my first 18 years. Walking the circuit I ran round from school on so many lunchtimes gave me the chance to visit Ian Curtis' memorial stone. Then, via the school itself, the silk museum and the house where Ian killed himself, my journey took me to Congleton. There I checked that my boyhood house was still standing and had a fine pint before watching Congleton Town play out an exciting 1-1 draw with Charnock Richard.
