Two Tiny Flies

This charming little spotty fly was barely 5mm long. I noticed it only when it flashed its wings. It is sitting on an Angelica leaf, perhaps attracted by the nectar in the flowers.

The other one in extra shot was closer to 10mm long, and was sitting on a rhubarb leaf eating a small insect. This fly looks like a fruit fly, but it is much larger, and is a predator of smaller flies. I have often seen them eating flies, but have not seen them on fruit.
