The Story Teller

Nov. 11.  Veterans Day  My Dad was in the Coast Guard in WWll,   (defending Lake Michigan!:-))  H was in the Public Health Service but instead of Viet Nam, he was “stationed” in Washington DC in the Cancer Control program,.  The GI bill helped a lot with residency later.  …. We were very lucky.   Had this conversation with our son and his boys while out to dinner tonight (their Mom was away on a girls weekend)…NIk’s High School had an assembly with vets there telling their stories.   The grade school did a lot with it, the middle school where Oskar is now, not so much.
Our other son (who was born this day 51 years ago, (we are remembering that as pretty life changing)) is taking advantage of the 3 day weekend to go to the San Juans with his girls and Maple.
We came home after a great pasta dinner in the neighborhood and had some dessert and I think Oskar told stories the whole evening  (but it was quiet here so I could hear him better)  He has such an interesting brain that remembers everything,. Using this for the blip because I liked seeing him with the NW coast print on the wall in back called “the story teller”.

Did anyone who looked at my floating home blip yesterday notice an African marabou stork on a railing??
