Every Picture Tells .....

A Night at the Rex

SATURDAY

We decided to forgo the modern cinema complex in favour of the local Rex Picture House in Elland. It opened in 1912 and is one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in the country. For half the price we were treated to tea from china cups, pullman seats, organ music and an intermission.

And the film - Murder on the Orient Express - In my opinion, the all-star cast (Dench, Depp, Jacobi, Pfeiffer, Branagh, Cruz, Dafoe) and spectacular settings and the steam train made the movie work despite the convoluted plot.
