Learning day by day

Thinking time

I spent the day remembering Becky, a good friend and colleague from GOSH. Sadly she died unexpectedly ten years ago whilst on maternity leave. I was on maternity leave with Carys at the time.

Becky loved to shop, so it was fitting that this morning I mooched around Westfield thinking about her before heading to GOSH for the anniversary memorial organised by some of the girls there. It was a lovely and very moving service in the chapel. Becky's Mum, brother, husband and best friend attended. I am sure they thought it was very fitting tribute. It says something about Becky that 30 of us who worked with her at Great Ormond Street managed to get back to remember her (along with those who were there in thought from Australia, New Zealand and USA). Afterwards it was lovely to catch up with everyone, after all not everyone is on Facebook! I think Becky would have loved to have been there, but she would have been very happy to have known that we were all there because of her. Miss you Becky.
