Remembrance Sunday

Today, throughout the country and the world people have been remembering those who gave their lives in conflict, especially those who died in the First World War, and those who continue to serve their country today. At our village war memorial, which stands just inside the gates of the village church, 29 wooden crosses were placed in the ground at its base together with 3 wreaths. 25 of the crosses represent the 25 men from the village who died during WW1, (approximately 15% of the total population at that time), and the other 4 those who died during WW2.
