Fell

Early awake.  High winds caused a bird feeder outside to knock, knock, knock on the window.

Up before first light to see if there might be a sunrise. There was a little cloud, not much but just enough to make it worthwhile getting dressed and brave the cold outside.

Yesterday's blip was taken from the garden so we didn't have far to go for our repeat performance.

I'm easily pleased and my pleasure rating went up when I saw a dusting of snow on one of the fells and a faint glimpse of pink above as we went outside.

Sadly although lovely to be here looking at the scene before us the sunrise never really materialised as there always seemed to be layers of misty dark cloud obscuring the higher pink no matter how much the clouds passed by in the wind.

Earlier plans were changed and we decided to walk to Easdale Tarn.  A lovely if not breezy walk.

During the walk, I was reminded of the fact the ground can be boggy underfoot when my boot went down about 18 inches into the ground more than I had planned. That one wet foot was joined by my other foot a few minutes later when I slid rather suddenly into a waterfall whilst trying to retrieve LandscapeGirls glove. Sore back, wet feet, wet hat, wet glove and dampened spirits didn't deter us we carried on to the tarn. Albeit briefly before heading homeward. Where we were revived in the Grasmere Garden Centre cafe where I discovered a good 3g signal :-)

Sorry I’ve rambled on and I shall end this rather lengthy saga by saying we are both rather tired and have dragged ourselves to the Travellers rest pub for a quick pint whilst we use their wifi and post our Blip. (update wifi didn't work had to use phones poor 3g instead.

Tonight’s blip is a shot taken from the garden of one of the fells that flank Grasmere. Sorry I don't know its name.

Enough from me.  Sorry I haven't found the time to reply to yesterday comments or the day before.
