Mr Greenfinch

I think this is the last of the birds that visit my deck rail cafeteria. The greenfinch sampled the apple and decided it wasn't his thing but the bath would be  good for a long drink.

He had been hanging around but keeping out of the way of the larger birds when he decided to quench his thirst. Most of the backyard birds just sip the water but Mr Greenfinch would sip and then throw back his head to swallow like a hen does. He looked like he was going to gargle or even crow!

Surprisingly, I haven't had any goldfinches or chaffinches visit this year. Not sure why as they were present last year.
