Beneath Biscay

Roll out the barrels

Three cider barrels to be precise. They have been located at various locations around Gijon to announce an upcoming cider festival. Yes, another!

I have seen some smaller, but still large, barrels in a private cider press in a village. They still had the same little 'doorways' at the bottom of the barrel as these do. Village children would earn pocket money entering the barrels and cleaning them inside.

Given the size of these barrels however, I guess that they come from a cider manufacturer, in which case I don't know whether they would be allowed to employ children. If not, keep some diminutive and agile staff on the payroll.
