Conker Championship preparations - update

Seven days to go until the big day. I was a little concerned this morning when I looked out and saw all the conkers still on the tree, thought we might need a strong wind. I have just undertaken a quick survey and there are quite a few on the ground already but not enough. Looking up at the tree though I know I needn't worry. All the pods are beginning to open and it will be raining conkers at some point this week. They look as though they are nice big ones.

This time next week the competitors and spectators will be arriving. Must go and tidy my kitchen!
