Life through the lens...

The gate's open!

Oh what a beautiful October morning!
We have been for a walk along the Kirklees Way. Down to Oakwell Hall, Up to Drighlington and back home.
Beautiful clear day we could see for miles. Picked some sloes to make some sloe gin.
No blackberries though, but plenty of rose hips.
The trees are just begining to get their autumn tints, but most are still green.

Encountered these beautiful cows in a field just before we got back home.
English Longhorns I think. Looked pretty docile inspite of the horns, but as the gate was open between the foot path and the cows, we didn't stay around for long.MrC was already at the other side of the field when I took this shot. Shouting at me not to get too close, and hurry up!!!

Originating in Craven in the North of England, the English Longhorns are not related to the Texas Longhorns. The long - horned oxen date from the 16th and 17th century.

Back home and lovely to be able to have a coffee sat out in the garden.

Last minute washing done for holls.
Now off to finish the gardening.

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather.
