Maggie's at Rainbow Ridge.....Grief.

Todays Celebrate Impermanence challenge was “Grief”.
Photograph Grief?

This had The Boss quite worried all the way from Wellington to Wanaka today and I Tiny will continue the commentary today as Big T has been a bit distracted what with the greeting and all that goes with that including grub ‘Cos he didn’t turn up on time. The Plane was late and he had another meeting in Queenstown and the road home had every car in the country on it…Driving cautiously.

Maggie May, a Golden Retriever,  was not our first dog but she was the first dog to die in Wanaka and having come from a big city we had no idea how to deal with what happened here.

The door bell started ringing the day after she passed and folk from all over town arrived with food, sympathy and flowers (Maggie Mops).
We cried for a week in instalments.

Then all went quiet for about a week and the door bell started again and this time there were folk with their dogs standing there as they had heard we were thinking of not getting another one.

Finally Wanaka’s oldest Doctor arrived with a Wheaten Terrier called Pi (a pup) who pee’d on the kitchen floor and jumped on all the furniture and her parents were having another litter….Right?

The Boss created the original picture for remembrance 10 years ago and was thinking about it all the way home and was pleased  to find candles in a kitchen draw.

Tiny…Signing off for now.
