Melbourne, Australia (Neighbours tour)

Continuing the birthday celebrations this weekend and we booked a Neighbours set and street tour. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a big Neighbours fan and honestly it's pretty much the whole reason I wanted to come to Melbourne!! Our tour guide Jerry was absolutely hilarious reliving all the best neighbours moments and telling us lots of funny facts from the set - they use lamps and build set houses a certain way to make it appear more sunny, Neighbours is a childrens programme (we all got confused at this as we are all adults til we all answered "children" when we started watching the programme lol) and Dr Karl is secretly God as he manages to cure everyone and the only doctor ever available. He was absolutely hilarious and Hugh and I were in tears before the bus started moving!
We drove around 30 mins to the suburbs near Glen waverley and headed to the studios first where all the outside sets were. Both the studios and the street have 24/7 security for all the cray fans and we had a security guard come round with us too. It was brilliant we saw pretty much all the sets you can think of that appear in Neighbours - Grease monkeys, the garage (Fitzgerald motors), Handy woman, the community centre, Sonyas nursery, the backpackers, parts of Erinsborough High, Harolds coffee shop, the waterhole, Lassiters and Lassiters lake (which is accordingly to Jerry a puddle deep!). It was so cute a guy on our tour proposed to his girlfriend at Lassisters lake! It was so surreal seeing all the sets as they are all connected, back to back etc. Tv editors manage to make you believe A LOT.
After taking LOTS of photos and seeing all the sets was a short ride to Ramsay street (Or Pin oak court as the real street is called) We all got to walk around the outsides of the houses - Karl and Susans, Toadie and Sonyas, Brennan brothers etc it was wonderful to see and so strange that real people live in these houses. We even got to hold the Ramsay st street signs. Such a brilliant day and a great way to end my birthday weekend
