The Edge of the Wold

4 blippers, 2 blip dogs and a viaduct

From left to right, BiblinrosTrevorearthyhilarysview, and knottman2 with two well-known blip dogs, Chloe and Gus (who here has made a new best friend).

Ken organised the blipmeet to coincide with Hilary's visit to the Lake District and invited Ros and Trev from the other side of the county and me from a few hundred metres away. Ken had planned a route to show off the best viewpoints from Arnside Knott and some of its special features (such as the white flowered version of the Teesdale violet), and which eventually took us down to the shore from where so many Arnside sunsets are blipped; and from there back via Ashmeadow to a delicious lunch provided by Mrs Ann Knottman2. The timing was so good that the visitors were able to secure photographs of trains on the viaduct perfectly reflected in the Kent channel below. My timing was not so good and I failed to place a train on the viaduct in this photograph of the blipmeet.

It was lovely to meet Hilary after many years of blipping, and to meet Ros, Trev and Chloe again (whom I had last met nearly five years ago just after Gus came into our lives). It's always a pleasure to see Ken and Ann. The occasion was all the better for me as one of my first social get togethers after the months of relative quarantine.
