Laughter

Another long, busy day.

Work from 9 to 5 and then Gaelic from 5.30 until 7.

The highlights?
- a lighthearted phone call from someone in the HR department at “Headquarters”. Always nice to share a giggle on the phone with a stranger! She couldn’t believe the age of this new employee and thought there must have been a typo in my date of birth.
- the Scottish Government winning its 5 year court battle with the Scotch Whisky Association over the alcohol minimum pricing law. In the meantime thousands have died from alcohol related illness.
- more good team bonding with N and C in the office. Two real characters.
- lots of laughs at the Gaelic class. One of us had a total brain freeze trying to pronounce an d’fhuair thu fear buidhe? ("did you get a yellow one?"). Then she collapsed into fits of laughter. Then the whole class couldn’t stop laughing. Then the tutor got the bug. Then we all lost concentration and none of us could say it... You had to be there.

It isn’t always that difficult. Cidsin means kitchen - they are pronounced almost identically. Once you know that you won’t forget it.

I struggled for a Blip - being inside almost all of the daylight hours makes it more of a challenge. Bedtime chamomile tea...

Well, time to hit the pit. Rotary at 7.30am.
