No Angel

Saint Andy was no Angel. He lacked an Angel's black and white-hot certainty. Instead, he had a man's awkward spectrum of nuanced shades of grey.

Saint Andy was no Angel and he was also an atheist. He had lived and worked with the Islanders for ten years and, when they asked him about his country's religion, he had told them but he had been pleased when they had been only mildly interested. They had decided that they didn't need God or Angels or any religion. But they had liked the idea of Saints. And they decided that Andy was a Saint.
