Exciting! Safe!

An "Atomic Energy Lab" toy from 1951, which contained real radioactive sources and a cloud chamber. My colleague told me that they would have been alpha sources, and so not particularly unsafe ... that is until somebody eats one.

Spotted in the Elements exhibition at the Ulster Museum in Belfast. We also saw the Weeping Window exhibition of the poppies.
