Kenmuir Hill tower

I ran this morning... freezing cold and pouring rain. Why?

Partly because I felt I had to and partly because i wanted to take a picture of this tower.

It is between Beith and Howwood and i have passed it thousands of times in the car over the past 50 years at least and I have always been fascinated by it.

The run was laborious but at least I was rewarded with a view from the opposite side that I had never ever seen.

There are various "google" articles on its purpose  - nothing conclusive, but I will always just remember it as that  lonely tower on the hill.
